Minnesota Vikings Quarterback Kirk Cousins has agreed to a four-year, $180 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons, ending his 6 year run in Minnesota. Insiders report this deal includes a $50 million signing bonus and $90 million guaranteed over the next two seasons. $10 million will be guaranteed in 2026 totaling a $100 million is in guaranteed money. Cousin's got injured and required surgery in the 2023 season and with his addition should make the Falcons a favorite in the NFC and Super Bowl contenders.

This is not surprising but at the same time quite surprising. The Vikings must have not really offered Cousins anything close to what he was asking to stay in Minnesota. Kirk Cousins leaves a sold team that had great players, one of the best receivers, very good offensive line and a great OC. The two parties must have been very far apart in negotiations or the Falcons just made him an offer, obviously that he couldn't say no to. I guess Cousins shopping for houses and checking out schools in Atlanta should have told us all something. Plus I believe his wife is from a town outside of Atlanta.
